We finished our all about me book! Here are some student samples.

 

 

Shakespeare is coming!

January 21 and 22 are exciting days for us here. Shakespeare is coming to the GLOBE!!!
Last year, the S4Kids program from the Shakespeare Tavern brought their kid friendly version of
Shakespeare to our students. The program was so popular we are bringing them back again.
Here are the dates and times:
Upper Campus: 10 am on Thursday, January 21.
Lower Campus (Grades K, 1, 2) Friday, January 22 (Times TBD, but beginning in the morning)
The troupe will break down one of Shakespeare’s classics- MacBeth- into a version that kids

Cost per child is $5. That is a bargain for a live children’s show! (If you would like to help cover
the cost for others, you may send in an extra $1, and make it $6. )
Please begin sending money in as soon as possible, to the classroom teacher.

Push and pull activities

We are starting our next Science unit on push and pull and the kids love experimenting with different things that require the use of force in everyday life.

FUN RUN

Our fun run is this coming Friday! We can't wait! Please review the following reminders. 

-Email us if your child will be attending after care. 

-Email us if you  are planning to take your child after the fun run. We will have a roster for you to sign your child out. 

-Students should not bring a book bag or folder. 

-Make sure you dress your child appropriate for the weather.

-Students should wear athletic gear! Ready to run!

Directions:

Option 1: Using photographs and or illustrations, create a timeline that show the different stages of a person. Label the different stages with the correct Chinese characters.

Vocabulary:

婴儿ying er (infant)

小孩xiao hai (child)

少年shao nian (teenager)

成人cheng ren  (adult)

老人lao ren (elderly)

Option 2: Using photographs and or illustrations, create a family tree and label each family member with the correct Chinese characters.

Vocabulary:

家庭树 jia ting shu(family tree)
妈妈ma ma (mother)                                                            爸爸 ba ba (father)

哥哥ge ge (older brother)                                                    姐姐jie jie  (older sister)

First Field Trip

We had tons of fun yesterday and the kids were amazed after the show on the sun, moon and stars. If you and your family would like to learn more and possibly see pluto through a telescope, please feel free to visit the planetarium on a Friday evening.

All about me book

Students are starting to write a book that is all about them! When we finish, this book will be sent home and you can have your child read it to the family.
